Maison et Objet, Paris, France, 22 January, 2010. sonoro audio, German designer and engineer of distinctive, high-quality audio products has been awarded the most prestigious GOOD DESIGN™ 2009 award for eklipse, an all-in-one compact audio system.    The international GOOD DESIGN award recognizes the world's most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary, and innovative product concepts, invention and originality.  GOOD DESIGN is a global program that has immediate public recognition.  It's the public’s seal of approval. sonoro eklipse joins internationally recognized products from  honourees such as Mercedes-Benz, Hewlett-Packard, Apple and NASA.

Hundreds of the world's leading corporations and design offices from 40 nations vied in Chicago and New York for the world's most coveted GOOD DESIGN Award for 2009, which is bestowed annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.  For 2009, The GOOD DESIGN Awards were judged in New York by an international jury of design professionals, architects, experts, and cultural leaders.  This year celebrates its 60-year anniversary as the oldest and most prestigious awards program for product and graphic design.

The sonoro eklipse is a compact AM / FM radio, CD / MP3 player and iPod® dock. The handcrafted curved-corner wood casing in high gloss black or white lacquered ‘piano’ finish has an acrylic front panel and brushed metal navigation ring with an alluring golden glow, OLED display.   The striking, minimalist appearance makes eklipse a stylish addition to any home, office or hotel interior.
